How to Remove a Hood Latch on Dodge Ram 1500?

Before taking off the hood latch, remove the grille first. After that, draw the position of the hood latch directly on the upper radiator crossmember with a grease pencil or analog. After that, take out the bolts holding the hood latch to the radiator crossmember. Remove the hood latch by cutting off the cable and taking out the latch.

Attach the hood latch cable (2) to the hood latch (1). Place the hood latch onto the upper radiator crossmember and, with the two bolts (3) holding it only loosely in place, fasten them. Realign the hood latch with the upper radiator crossmember according to the marks placed during removal and tighten the bolts to 11 Nm (8 ft. lbs.). Should it be required, realign the hood into its proper position.
