The first step for servicing the drive belt tensioner is to take off the accessory drive belt. Take off the ignition coil wiring and secondary cable, then separate the ignition coil from its bracket using just two bolts-don't disconnect the coil mounting bracket from the cylinder head. After that, remove the tensioner assembly from the bracket by detaching one nut and then unbolt the pulley. At the start of installation, secure one end of the pulley to the tensioner with the bolt and tighten it to 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.) torque. Set the tensioner back onto the mounting bracket, with the tab on the tensioner going into the slot on the bracket and fasten the nut to 67 Nm (50 ft. lbs.) torque. Once done, neatly connect all the wires back to the ignition coil and use a torque wrench to tighten the coil bolts, so the coil is not damaged. If your bicycle uses nuts and bolts, tighten the coil to 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.); if it has tapped mounting bolts, tighten the coil to 5 Nm (50 in. lbs.). Lastly, put back the drive belt and look at the belt indexing marks.
