Service of the rear shock absorber should begin with lifting the car onto supports. After that, take off the nut and bolt that secure the lower shock absorber bracket to the axle bracket and then remove the upper mounting nut, retainers and bolt. Following that, withdraw the shock absorber from your vehicle and, if important, remove the spacer tube from the upper shock absorber eye as well. Set the shock absorber in the axle bracket and attach it by screwing the bolt and nut in place. After that, put the spacer tube into the upper shock absorber eye. Affix the shock absorber to the frame rail bracket, add the inner retainer, bolt and outer retainer and fasten the nut. When all is finished, tighten the shock absorber mounting nuts to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.), remove the supports and lower the car.
