  Install EGR cooler support bracket on the cab chassis with a 6.7L diesel engine if removed. Tighten mounting bolts to 32 Nm (24 ft. lbs). Install a new gasket and position the EGR cooler on the exhaust manifold flange. Tighten the flange nuts to 43 Nm (32 ft. lbs) Install the EGR cooler mounting bolts and cross-tighten them to 24 Nm (18 lb.ft). Be warned; releasing a locked constant tension clamp will cause it to snap; it can be released with a suitable screwdriver. Place the retaining constant tension clamp on the forward coolant tube and install the tube. Subsequently, release the clamp. Repeat this for the rear coolant tube as well and breather tube. With new gaskets, position the EGR crossover tube to the EGR cooler and the EGR valve and install the clamps finger tight. Tighten the clamps to 10 Nm (89 in. lbs.) The mounting bolts of the EGR valve should be tightened to a torque of 24 Nm (18 ft. lbs). The EGR valve heat shield should then be installed, with a torque of the mounting nut of 10 Nm (89 in. lbs). Please reconnect the EGR valve electrical connector and install the engine cover. Lastly, connect the negative battery cable and fill the cooling system.

  To take off and replace the EGR cooler on the cab chassis you will need to remove the engine cover. Draining the EGR cooler will require draining the cooling system. Then, remove the EGR heat shield and detach the electrical connector of the EGR temperature sensor. Without removing, loosen the bolts that hold the EGR valve in place; remove the clamps of the EGR crossover tube. Utilizing tool 6094, remove moly coolant tube from EGR cooler finishing with breach tube and finally rear coolant tube. Remove the EGR Transfer Connection Tube from the casting, if equipped. Remove the nuts on the EGR cooler flange and the bolts on the EGR cooler mount, and disconnect the EGR cooler and discard the flange gasket. Remove the EGR cooler support bracket if it is damaged too.
