First, separate the cable carrying excess negative battery voltage, then take out the electrical plug from the EGR solenoid. Unscrew the two bolts joining the EGR tube to the valve assembly and remove the gasket found between the EGR tube flange and the EGR valve assembly. Then, detach the mounting bolts and pull out the valve assembly from above the engine. Remove the metal gasket found between the cylinder head and the valve assembly after that.
