Before you can service the drive belt tensioner, take off the accessory drive belt and cut the secondary cable and wires from the ignition coil. Then, unbolt the coil from the tensioner bracket, unscrew the bolt holding the tensioner in place on the cylinder head and undo the nut that keeps the tensioner on its mount. You should note that because spring pressure is so high, you are not allowed to remove the automatic tensioner. Then unscrew and remove the pulley bolt and slide the pulley from the tensioner. To install this system, start by fitting the pulley and adding the pulley bolt, making sure the tightness is 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.). After that, slot the tensioner back panel into the bracket so the indexing tab of the tensioner falls on its slot, then apply 67 Nm (50 ft. lbs.) of torque to secure the tensioner bracket. Bolster the tensioner assembly on top of the cylinder head and fix it into place using the bolt. Attach all wires back to the ignition coil and place it onto the tensioner mounting bracket. Fasten the three bolts to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) to protect the case of the ignition coil from damage. After that, fit the drive belt and match its indexing marks with the rest of the motor.
