How to service and repair the harmonic balancer and crankshaft pulley on Dodge Ram 2500 Van?

Before working on or repairing the balancer and pulley, you should first remove the negative battery cable. Take out the fan and remove the fan drive and next remove the accessory drive belt. After that, remove the vibration damper pulley and unscrew and remove the vibration damper bolt and washer at the end of the crankshaft. Take the bar and screw from Set C-3688, put one bolt and washer through each end, insert the tool into the vibration damper and use the puller tool to pull it off the crankshaft. After that, line up the vibration damper over the crankshaft and attach it with the tool from Puller Tool Set C-3688. Screw the crankshaft bolt and washer in place and tighten to 244 Nm (180 ft. lbs.). Afterwards, tighten the pulley bolts to 23 Nm (200 in. lbs.). Initialize the reinstallation with the serpentine belt, move on to the viscous fan drive and fan, add the fan shroud and end with reconnecting the negative cable.
