- Q: How to Install a Door Seal for Front and Rear Doors on Dodge Ram 3500?A:Starting in the center at the bottom of the door opening, put the Weather Strip into position with the bulb facing outboard. Press the seal onto the sill flange and go around the door opening, ensuring the seal is in place along the perimeter and smooth it in the same direction to keep puckers or wrinkles from forming. If you have a Standard Cab, use trim piece (3) and if you have a Quad Cab, install trim piece (1). Also, install the cowl trim panel (1), after the next step. For a new weather strip at the front door, remove the tear strip from the splice going all the way around the front of the door opening to the back. The rear door seal goes at the bottom with the bulb protruding toward the outside, starting from the center of the flange. Lay the seal along the sill flange and move it around the edge of the door opening until it is fully seated. As you go, smooth the seal to prevent wrinkles. Put on the lower c-pillar trim and the lower b-pillar trim. When fitting a new weather strip to the rear door opening, pull off the tear strip from the splice and go around the back of the door to the front of the door.

For the front door, remove the cowl and lower b-pillar trim panels and then remove the door opening seal from the door opening flange. Place the bottom of the front door seal against the inside of the doorway and start the sealing bulb from the start of the lower flange in the center.
