Dodge Ram 3500 Van Car Speakers Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to remove and install Car Speakers in the instrument panel, front doors, and rear panels on Dodge Ram 3500 Van?
    A:
Before removing the instrument panel speaker, isolate the negative battery cable and detach the cover from your instrument panel. After that, undo the two screws attaching the speaker to the top panel, take the speaker out to get to the speaker wire connection, release it from the harness and remove the speaker from the panel. For the front door speaker, break the connection to the negative battery cable, slide off the trim panel near the front door, get rid of the screws holding the speaker in place and pull it out to remove the wire harness. Disconnect the battery negative cable, lose the two screws attaching the mounting bracket to the rear panel reinforcement, pull the bracket away to access the body connector, remove that, take out the four nuts and remove the grille from the backside of the bracket, remove those screws from the front of the bracket, then remove the speaker. For the speaker in the cargo compartment trim, disconnect the battery negative cable, detach and remove the trim panel, unplug the body wire harness connector from the speaker port, remove the four nuts that attach the grille to the rear trim area, remove the grille, unscrew the four screws connecting the speaker to the face of the trim area and take the speaker out. Place the instrument panel speaker onto the instrument panel, attach the speaker wire harness connector, position the speaker into its mounting hole, tighten two screws to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.), fix the speaker top cover and reattach the battery negative cable. Fix the front door speaker to the panel inside the front door, connect its wire harness, place the speaker in the hole, fasten the four screws to 4 Nm (35 in. lbs.) and set in place the trim panel. For the speaker without cargo compartment trim, position the speaker on the rear of the mounting bracket, install the four screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.), place the grille in front of the bracket and tighten the nuts to the same value, place the bracket on the rear panel, reconnect the body wire harness connector, put the bracket on the rear reinforcements, install the two screws and reconnect the battery negative cable. For the speaker and cargo compartment trim, set the speaker onto the rear of the trim panel, insert and tighten the four screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.), install the grille face, secure the nuts tightly, reconnect the body connector, place the trim panel over the speaker and attach the battery negative cable.
  • Q: How to replace the instrument panel Car Speakers on Dodge Ram 3500 Van?
    A:
First, take out and isolate the battery chord's negative cable before attempting to replace the instrument panel speaker. Pull off the top cover, then use a screw driver to remove the two screws that hold the speaker in place. Move away your speaker from the hole in the console enough to detach the speaker wire harness from the instrument panel wire harness connector. Remove the speaker from its place on the instrument panel. Lay the new speaker onto the instrument panel and link the speaker wire harness connector to the connector on the instrument panel harness. Attach the speaker to the hole in the dashboard and fasten it with two screws, be sure to fasten them to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.). Then, attach the top cover to the instrument panel and connect the battery's negative cable.
