First, hold up the engine accelerator pedal from inside the cabin and gently remove both the plastic retainer and the cable core wire close to where the cable enters it. After that, separate the central wire from the pedal arm. To remove the cable housing, pinch and release the cable housing retainer at the dash panel and pull the cable housing into the front part of the engine bay. Lift the engine cover and take off the air cleaner housing, then, using your hand, move the throttle lever all the way to the open position and slide the cable end off its pin. Press forward on the release tab using a small screwdriver to detach the cable housing from the throttle body bracket, ensuring you don't push too hard. After that, lift the cable housing straight up from the bracket. Eliminate the cable from the vehicle. Push the cable against the lever pin so the V-8 engine models show the cable moved under the plastic cam. Place the cable from the throttle body mounting bracket into the opening in the cable housing, push down to secure it and then snap the remaining end of the cable housing into the dash panel. Place the ball of the cable wire through the hole in the pedal arm, then put the plastic cable retainer in place and line up the index slot on it with the index tab attached to the pedal arm. Be sure to try out the throttle system after you are done with al the checks, then reassemble and put on the air cleaner housing and the engine cover.
