To remove the spark plug cable from the coil, grasp the top (not the boot) of the spark plug insulator and turn the boot one-half turn. This will allow you to pull straight up in a steady manner. This method will prevent the causing ignition noise. Furthermore, it will also prevent the cross ignition of the spark plugs or short circuiting. To install, the spark plug insulators should fit over the spark plugs so that the top of the insulator covers the upper end of the spark plug tube. Then install the other end to the coil pack.

How to replace Spark Plug Wire #1 on Dodge Grand Caravan?

To change the #1 spark plug cables remove the accessory drive belt. Now remove the four bolts from the generator bracket upper half and push the generator rearward. Hold the spark plug boot/shield assembly close to the plug. Then, slightly twist the boot to break the seal. Pull that boot straight back. Do not use pliers or pull on the ignition cable itself.
