The front outboard seat belt and retractor unit can be serviced after disconnecting and insulating the battery negative cable and letting the system rest for two minutes. Move the front seat all the way forward for access to the B-pillar trim, snap the plastic cover off the screw located there, remove the screw and pull out the lower anchor from the outboard frame. Pull the outboard side shield off the
Seat Cushion and with the lower anchor detached, release the trim from the inside of the B-pillar. After that, unscrew the front outboard seat belt turning loop from the B-pillar height adjuster and remove the loop. To separate the wires from the seat belt tensioner, place the lock toward the top, release the latch tab and pull straight down the wire connector connected to the inflator within the B-pillar. Attach a strong grip to the retractor--it is helped by the locking clip--and take it out with the seat belt from the B-pillar.
