  Before working on the parking brake shoes, firm the vehicle by raising it and lifting its rear wheels. On SRW models, disconnect the front cable from the pulley, leave the rear cable in place and remove the retracting springs, adjuster and pressure springs with tool 9280. Separate the rear park brake shoes and their adjuster from the bottom. When dealing with a dual rear wheel (DRW) model, begin as before, then extract the wheel flange ring and loosen the front park brake cable and remove all retracting springs, adjuster and pressure springs from the assembly. Wipe all your brake parts using a clean cloth or a brake cleaner, but do not use other types of solutions and use fine sandpaper to remove any thin rust on your brake shoe contact pads. For installation on SRW models, first snap the retracting spring, the short hook eye and the adjuster wheel on the inside near the bottom, then test to make sure the cable lock moves freely before you install the park brake shoes. To start, insert the lower retracting spring with special tool 9280, hold down the springs with tool 9281, use 9280 once more for the upper retracting spring and complete by setting in the adjuster. Reattach the front park brake cable, set the disc brake rotor in place, attach the rear wheels, adjust the parking brakes, lower the vehicle and then push the brake pedal a few times to check their function. To assemble a DRW model, take the same preassembly steps, install the park brake shoes, lower retracting spring, hold down pressure hold down springs by depressing and twisting and then add the upper retracting spring and adjuster. Install the front park brake cable again, mount the disc brake rotor, tighten the rear wheel flange ring to 200 Nm (148 ft. lbs.), put on the rear wheels, make sure the parking brakes are correctly adjusted, lift the vehicle by crane and ensure the pedals are pumped by pressing them many times.
