The assembly containing the starter motor and solenoid is to the front/rear and left of the engine. Remove the negative cable from the battery at the start. Remove the screw inside the hood that is holding the wiring trough to the transmission bell-house and then use cutters to shorten the nylon ties close to the starter. Next, this will let you temporarily mount the wiring trough from the starter motor. Then, take out both nuts that secure the starter solenoid wiring harness, disconnect the wire connector from the solenoid stud and take apart the
Battery Cable from the same place. After you've supported the vehicle, take out the E14Torx bolts that hold the starter in the transmission bellhousing. As you install, pick up the vehicle again, install the starter motor close to the transmission and add the two bolts provided alongside the torque details. After you lower the vehicle, hold the battery cable and solenoid wire with the two nuts attached to the solenoid and follow the torque guidelines. Insert the harness into its trough, bolting it in place, add new nylon cable ties to the trough and link the negative battery terminal to the harness.
