- Q:How to Service and Repair a Starter Motor on Dodge Sprinter 3500?A:Before beginning any service or repair on your starter motor, remove and block the negative cable to the battery. After that, raise and hold the vehicle while removing the belly pan. After that, remove the bolt holding the starter wiring harness retainer bracket to the transmission bellhousing. Separate the battery's positive cables from the starter solenoid and also detach the starter solenoid wire from it. After that, pull out the starter by taking the two bolts (E14Torx) and detaching it from the bellhousing.

Insert the harness into its trough, bolting it in place, add new nylon cable ties to the trough and link the negative battery terminal to the harness.
