Dodge Stratus Cruise Control Servo Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service and Repair a Cruise Control Servo on Dodge Stratus?
    A:
The first step to servicing or repairing a cruise control servo is to remove the negative Battery Cable. Unscrew the two nuts holding the servo bracket to the shocktower and disconnect the electrical and vacuum hoses. Following that, take out the two nuts that connect the cable and bracket to the servo. Remove the servo's cable by pulling it out of the servo and releasing its retaining clip. Then, take away the mounting bracket. When installing, first put the throttle in full open mode, feed the sleeve for the speed control cable through the hole in the bracket, align both holes and install a retaining bit to lock the cable in place. Complete the connections by reattaching the hose and reconnecting the wire and then poke the servo studs into the holes in the cable. Insert the fasteners and tighten them to around 6.7 Nm (60 in. lbs.). After parts installation, attach the servo and bracket onto the shocktower stud plate and tighten the nuts before you put the negative battery cable back on.
