Before you service or repair the fuel filler neck, disconnect the negative battery cable and empty the fuel out of the tank. Take out the three screws that are holding the filler neck to the quarter panel. Hoist the car and make sure it is stable on the device, before taking out the ground strap. Remove the filler neck from the tank by undoing the clamps at the neck. With the transmission jack holding up the
Fuel Tank, remove the bolts on the rear fuel tank straps and lower the fuel tank enough to access the filler tube's vent line connection. After that, remove the connection to the fuel filler tube. For assembly, attach the filler neck to the filler hose and attach the end of the fuel filler vent tube. Move the fuel tank into place, put the tank straps on with the bolts loose and fasten them to 54 Nm (39.8 ft. lbs). Unplug the transmission jack, then squeeze the clamps with 3.6 Nm (31.8 in. lbs) and pin the ground strap with 7.5 Nm (66 in. lbs). After lifting the vehicle, screw the filler neck onto the quarter panel with three screws and lock them with 1.9 Nm (16 in. lbs.) of pressure. Don't forget to add fuel, then make sure there aren't any signs of leaking and attach the negative cable to the battery.
