To begin fixing the cruise control switch, unplug the negative
Battery Cable and turn off the car's ignition. If the
Air Bag is in your way, you must take it out by following the instructions in the section concerning air bags. After that, unscrew the top mounting screw, turn the
Steering Wheel so the switch is at the 6 o'clock position and remove the two screws from the back of the speed control along with its electrical connector to take out the switch. First, attach the electrical connector, then put in the switch and tighten the screws to 1.6 Nm (15 ins. lbs.), so the rubber seal stays in place at the switch. After removing the air bag module, fit it back according to the manufacturer's instructions and then reattach the negative battery cable.
