To service the turn signal switch, first disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable. Remove the tilt steering column lever and the knee blocker/lower steering column trim panel. Next, take off both the upper and lower shrouds from the steering column, followed by the lower fixed column shroud. Loosen the steering column upper bracket nuts without removing them. Move the upper fixed column shroud to access the rear of the multi-function switch, then remove the tamper proof mounting screws using a tamper proof Torx Bit TTXR2OB2 or equivalent. Gently pull the switch away from the column, loosen the connector screw (which will remain in the connector), and disconnect the wire harness connector from the multi-function switch. For installation, reverse the procedures and tighten the fasteners to the specified torque: multi-function switch connector screw to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.), multi-function switch retaining screws to 2 Nm (17 in. lbs.), and steering column upper bracket nuts to 12 Nm (110 in. lbs.).
