Responsible for blocking particles that may harm the engine, this air filter ensures that debris does not damage engine structures. Consequently, the air filter, which collects particles, is responsible for keeping proper air flow which is indispensable for achieving the greatest fuel economy and power. Most Jeep Commanders such as the XK and the 2022 model use pleated paper filters whose job it is to capture particles as small as five Microns. The air filter is another aspect that requires replacement over time; if left with a restricted airflow, it hampers the engine's performance. The Jeep Commander Air Filter is applicable for different Jeep Commander models so that every driver will be able to receive the benefits from its performance and protection qualities. Notably, there is a design facility where the air filter enhances its capacity to filter some elements that affect the efficiency of the engine and its durability. Also, there are extra options that are interesting for Jeep Commander Air Filters among which oiled cotton gauze filters that strike by greater airflow and long intervals between the replacements. Owners of Jeep Commander must consider the purchase of a good Jeep Commander Air Filter because this part will make car to perform better on the road and this is important when it comes to safety too.

Jeep Commander Air Filter Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Maintain and Fix an Air Filter on Jeep Commander?
    A:
To do air filter service or repair, first take off the clamp and unplug the Air Duct at the air cleaner cover. Click the four spring clips from the outer shell apart to free the cover from the housing and then pull the cover away from the locating tabs to remove it. Pull the air filter from the housing and clean the interior of the housing after you remove it. To work on the housing assembly, turn the clamp counterclockwise, break the air duct connection at the air cleaner cover and then raise the entire housing assembly off the locating pins. Lift up the filter inside of the housing and set the cover on top. When the cover touches the locating tabs, lift and grip the four black spring clips to secure it. Join the air duct back to the air cleaner cover and turn the hose clamp to 3 Nm (30 inch lbs.). Other hose clamps removed from the air intake system also need to be tightened to 3 Nm (30 inch lbs.) torque. If bolts from the air resonator housing or air intake tubing were removed, make sure they are tightened to 4 Nm (40 inch lbs.) torque.
