Jeep Commander Fuel Tank is an important part that speaks volume of Jeep Commander series models and their dependability and power. A part of the fuel delivery system, the Fuel Tank is expected to store fuel and dispense it to other parts of the car while also accommodating components such as the electric fuel pump and fuel gauge sender. The features include baffles that eliminate fuel movement and reduce noise levels to give a better drive. Jeep Commander Fuel Tank is designed for the different Commander types, such as the XK and the newest 2022 Meridian, so all the drivers can enjoy the car's sturdy parts. Another important function of this Fuel Tank is to act as the component of the so called Evaporative Emission Control System, or EVAP, which is responsible for enclosing fuel vapors and, therefore, preserving the environment. This Jeep Commander Fuel Tank is available in the metal and the high density polyethylene (HDPE) version and the latter is usually made of the military-grade polymers that will help the tank resist the corrosion and damages faster. That is why Jeep Commander fosters efficiency, starting with the high-capacity tanks that lengthen the range of a car and making it stand out on the automotive market. From both the functional and safety aspects to its innovative design the Jeep Commander Fuel Tank improves the vehicle and underlines the Jeep's commitment to quality and durability in the field of SUVs.

Jeep Commander Fuel Tank Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Service a Fuel Tank and Replace Its Rubber Seal on Jeep Commander?
    A:
During maintenance of the Fuel Pump module, you should always fit a fresh rubber gasket (seal). First, apply a new seal (gasket) and put the fuel pump module in the hole in the fuel tank. After that, fit the lockring (5) to the top of the fuel pump module and turn the module until the embossed arrow on the lockring lines up with the center mark to stop the fuel line from hitting the side walls of the tank, aligning the fuel fitting towards the driver's side. Hold the frame and use Lockring Remover/Installer 9340 (3) to secure the lockring, then use a 1/2 inch drive breaker (1) to tighten it clockwise until the seven notches are fitted. After that, secure the fuel tank into place.
  • Q: How to Maintain and Repair a Fuel Tank on Jeep Commander?
    A:
Draining and taking out the fuel tank should be the first step, since the fuel system stays pressurized all the time. Making note of the orientation of the Fuel Pump module will be easier by using the indexing arrow at the top of the module. Attach the Lockring Remover/Installer 9340 to the notches on the outside of the lockring. Add a 1/2 inch drive breaker bar to the tool and turn it counter-clockwise until you can pull the lockring off which raises the module by a small amount. Make sure you do not bend the float arm as you remove the module from the fuel tank. Never forget to replace the rubber seal when doing an installation. Put the fuel pump module and the new seal into the opening of the tank, then set the lockring on top of the module. Place the embossed arrow on the module facing the center mark to make certain the fuel fitting is pointing towards the driver and so it does not touch the side of the tank as the module moves. Attach the Lockring Remover/Installer 9340 to the lockring, put the 1/2 inch drive breaker bar in place and turn the lockring clockwise until you've engaged all seven notches.
