To fix the A/C evaporator, first strip the HVAC housing out of your vehicle and place it on a flat workbench. Remove the parts of the HVAC housing to find the A/C evaporator. A damaged or bent foam around the A/C evaporator will cause the refrigerant to leak and should be replaced. Lift the evaporator from the bottom of the HVAC unit and also remove the foam insulator. In the event the seal on the evaporator tube tapping block (5) is warped or damaged, remove it (4) as required.
