How to Install an HVAC Pressure Switch on Jeep Compass?

You should install the Refrigerant Pressure Sensor / Switch with the provided O-ring made of special material for R-134a and use only the right refrigerant oil for your A/C compressor. Lift a new rubber O-ring seal (4) out of the box, oil it with clean refrigerant oil and set it into the A/C discharge line (3). After that, screw the HVAC Pressure Switch onto the discharge hose and make sure it is tight. Afterward, connect the wire harness connector (1) to the HVAC Pressure Switch. After that, install the top of the front fascia and link the negative battery cable.

How to Replace an HVAC Pressure Switch on Jeep Compass?

Before beginning, isolate the negative battery cable so it does not short. Carefully pull the top of the fascia out of the way to check the HVAC pressure switch. Wiggle your hand into the opening under the HVAC condenser and above the front fascia to reach and disconnect the wire harness from the HVAC pressure switch on the HVAC discharge line. Your last step is to unmount the HVAC pressure switch from the HVAC discharge line and toss out the O-ring seal.
