How to Install a Speed Sensor on Jeep Compass?

First, insert the head of the wheel speed sensor into the rear of the hub and bearing, when installing the sensor on the front-wheel-drive vehicle. Hold the wheel speed sensor head in place and screw it with the mounting screw until it reaches 10 Nm. After that, attach the wheel speed sensor to the trailing link and tighten the securing screw to 18 Nm. First, put the sensor on the trailing link using the routing clip, then clip the sensor's cable routing clamp onto the rear suspension crossmember and attach with an 18 Nm screw. Place the speed sensor cable routing clip outside the frame rail. Feed the wheel speed sensor cable via the body hole to the shock tower which makes connecting to the body wiring connector easier. Place the wheel speed sensor cable through the hole and put the grommet on top. Fit in the tire and wheel once more, using a torque wrench to tighten the mounting nuts to 135 Nm. Pull the vehicle down and insert the cable connector of the wheel speed sensor into its port on the body wiring harness connector through the gap at the bottom of the quarter trim panel. If your car needs it, install the satellite receiver or amplifier to the rear floor pan and then mount the silencer and cargo cover to the floor on the other side.
