Jeep Compass TPMS Sensor is one of the minor parts that give credence to the brand's reliability as well as performance. Intending to track and keep track of tire pressure; the Jeep Compass TPMS Sensor raises awareness of any killer changes thus boosting safety as well as efficiency. This feature is important in avoiding such tire failures that may cause an accident and as of this, it should be standard for all Jeep Compass. The Jeep Compass employs indirect TPMS or known as iTPMS as the standard setting and offered the dTPMS as an option to the customer. whereas iTPMS is a user friendly system it uses the software to approximate the tire pressure, the dTPMS involves the usage of battery operated sensors that are placed on every tire such that the driver is constantly aware of the tire status's. It is applicable for models manufactured at the first generation launched in 2007 as well as the second generation models thus putting Jeep owners in the comfort zone that they can always benefit from a TPMS Sensor irrespective of the model they are using. This equipment added special features to the Jeep Compass TPMS Sensor, for instance, the provision of warning message indications on the dashboard, relating to low pressure of the tires. All in all, the Jeep Compass TPMS Sensor does not only improve the driving experience but also strengthens the Jeep's safety and innovation and becomes an essential part of the Jeep Compass series of automobiles.

Jeep Compass TPMS Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Properly Reinstall a TPMS Sensor on a Wheel on Jeep Compass?
    A:
It is very important to put on new TPM seal, metal washer and nut on the valve when securing your TPM sensor so that there is a proper seal around your sensor. Carefully wipe around the sensor/valve stem mounting hole and remove any dirt from the wheel's surface. Be sure to press the rim of the rear valve part during insertion to stop the sensor from interfering with the sensor antenna strap. Hold the side with the pot on it toward the wheel and screw the sensor nut into place by hand. Shove down on the sensor housing to fit into the wheel depression, tighten the nut to 6.5 Nm before turning it with the wrench. Be careful not to force the sensor nut, since only a small excess can pull the sensor away from the valve stem. While mounting, place the sensor valve stem about 210° from the heads of rotating wheel changers or from the installation side of rotating tool changers, so it doesn't get near the lower bead breaker area. Once done mounting the tire, use the specifications from the Tire Inflation Pressure Label and secure the original style and color valve stem cap. Place the tire and wheel set on the vehicle, tighten the mounting nuts up to 135 Nm. Drop the vehicle from where it is and enable the system to scan the new sensor ID by using the TPM-RKE Analyzer or by driving it for at least 10 minutes above 15 mph. Should a sensor be unable to train, the appropriate guidance from relevant diagnostic information should be reviewed.
