How to Install an Automatic Transmission Shifter Assembly on Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Bolts on the shifter assembly must be tightened to 12 Nm (105 in.lbs.) after placing it on the floor panel. Before you adjust anything, remember to make certain the shifter level is in PARK and loosen the nut that holds the shifter in place. Join the gearshift cable to the pin on the shift lever and then use the park lock cable to fasten the shifter to the cam as well as the notch on the assembly.
