How to Install a Window Regulator for the Rear Door on Jeep Grand Cherokee?

To attach the regulator to the rear door, fit it through the large hole at the rear door and join the wire harness connector (3) to its motor. Attach the glass into the regulator clamps and put in bolts (1 and 2), drilling them into the door to 8.5 Nm (75 in. lbs.). De-tape the door glass from the top and then briefly put the window switch in the position that will raise the glass all the way up. Screw each window regulator glass clamp bolt until 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.) are reached. After that, install the watershield and trim panel inside the front door and next work on installing the watershield for the rear door.

How to Remove a Rear Door Window Regulator on Jeep Grand Cherokee?

The watershield must be removed first to take out the rear door window regulator. Subsequently, connect the window switch, pull the glass up all the way to get at the glass clamp screws and finally cover the glass with tape. Take out the window regulator clip just a bit from its bolt to let the door glass come out from both clamps, without totally removing the clips. Unfasten bolts 1 and 4 holding the window regulator rail to the door and afterward remove the power connector 3. After that, tighten the regulator once more and pull it out through the door.
