Put the shock absorber in by lifting the lower control arm 2, inserting the shock assembly 2 through the control arm from the top just high enough to clear the body and then sliding that part 2 into the body bracket 1. After that, install both the part marked bolt 1 and nut 3, tightening the shock assembly 2 onto the lower control arm 4, but do not make them very tight yet. Attach assembly 1 and then tighten wheel nuts 3 to 135 Nm (100 ft. lbs.). Install the shock assembly in the body bracket using the two nuts provided through the openings 1 and 2 on the inside trim panel. Tighten the nuts to 48 Nm (35 ft. lbs.). Fold back door 2 on the shock assembly upper mounting nut access to close the opening. When everything is installed, place the rear floor pan silencer 1 behind the seat and then lay the cargo floor cover over this. On an alignment rack or drive-on lift, position the vehicle and raise it as needed so you can access the shock mounting bolt 1 and nut 3 and then tighten nut 3 on the bottom of the shock to restoring torque.
