It is advised that, after the replacement of the parking brake lining, the parking brake is conditioned by making a stop from 25 mph on dry pavement or concrete using light to moderate force of the parking brake lever. To begin, install the support plate on the axle seal plate, and tighten the bolts. Reattach the rear park brake shoes and fix the support plate to the axle shaft before attaching the axle shaft to the axle. The brake cable must be reconnected to the park brake shoe lever, which sits behind the support plate, and then the rear park brake cable must be installed at the equalizer. Remove the parking brake cable lockout at the front and install the rear wheel speed sensor. After adjusting the rear brake shoes, install the rotor and the caliper adapter of the disc brake. Proceed to attach the tire and wheel assembly, inspect and replenish the rear axle fluid, and descend the vehicle. Lastly, ensure adequate functionality of park brake system.
