After that, undo the screw holding the battery negative cable eyelet terminal to the dash panel, open the cover over the generator output terminal stud housing and remove the nut from the generator output cable eyelet terminal. Remove the eyelet terminal from the generator output cable, then remove the nut holding the negative battery cable ground eyelet terminal to the stud on the engine block and the terminal itself. In addition, unscrew and remove the battery positive cable terminal from the B(+) terminal stud on the starter solenoid and move the wire harness out of the engine compartment. For installation, examine and clean the clamps and terminals connected to the battery and position the battery wire harness in the engine compartment. Join the positive terminal to the B(+) stud on the starter solenoid and use your fingers to screw the nut to 10 Nm (90 in. lbs.). Fit the battery negative cable ground eyelet terminal onto its engine block stud and tighten the nut using 16.9 Nm (150 in. lbs.). After that, install the generator output cable eyelet terminal onto the generator output terminal stud and tighten the nut until it reaches 8.4 Nm (75 in. lbs.). Attach the cover for the generator's output terminal stud housing to the back of the generator and press the terminals in place. Fasten the negative cable eyelet terminal from the battery to the dash panel with a 48.7 Nm (36 ft. lbs.) screw. Screw the positive side of the battery onto the positive terminal with a connector and tighten the black connector to 11.3 Nm (100 in. lbs.). Lift the tabs on the B(+) terminal stud cover and attach the battery's positive cable terminal clamp to the positive post by tightening the pinch-bolt hex nut to 8.4 Nm (75 in. lbs.). Repeat the same torque when you attach the battery's negative cable clamp to the negative terminal post. Finish by putting a little petroleum jelly or chassis grease on the bare parts of both the battery cable terminal clamps and the battery posts.

Clip the cables onto their routes and clips in the engine compartment until they are in their initial places. If a gasoline engine is on the left and the driver is on the right, the battery is on the right and for diesel engines, the setup follows the same principle. Rout the clips for the cable assembly (5) to the mounting studs (7). Thread the nut (3) onto the negative cable (2) which connects to the metal body ground stud. Tighten the nut to 12 Nm (9 ft. lbs.). Secure the Totally Integrated Power Module cable (11) to the battery cable stud (5) using nut (12). Don't forget to attach the battery positive cable (4) after tightening its clamp with 5 Nm (45 in. lbs.), then perform the same process for the battery negative cable (8).
