How to Install a Camshaft Position Sensor on a 3.8L Engine on Jeep Wrangler?

Before putting on the Camshaft Position Sensor on a 3.8L engine, remove the previous spacer from the sensor and add on a new spacer first. Make sure there's no damage to the O-ring and swap it out if it's not working properly. If you are fitting a new sensor, remember the paper spacer goes in the middle and the O-ring to its groove. Before you install the O-ring, put a little clean engine oil on it. Set the sensor in the engine and move it right and left until it clicks into place, then push down until it comes in contact with the camshaft gear. After attaching the sensor, secure the mounting bolt to the back of the sensor tightening it to 14 Nm (125 in. lbs.) torque. Last, insert the connector from the sensor pigtail into the engine harness and attach the negative battery cable.
