The Ram Radiator Fan Relay detects engine temperature and AC load. It is a small electrical switch applied in the vehicle to energize the cooling fan and maintain consistent operating temperatures. The e-Torque mild hybrid system in Ram trucks improves low-speed torque while hitting the gas less, allowing these trucks to stand out with muscle and brains. An available air suspension feature allows for two to eight inches of lift or squat to clear rocks today and duck wind tomorrow. If you notice your cabin getting warmer than usual, the Radiator Fan Relay could be faulty. Fortunately, replacing it is relatively quick. First, unhook the negative battery cable to kill power and prevent sparks. Lever open the fuse block near the grille and pinch up the tired relay to pull it straight out, then eyeball the socket for corrosion. The new Radiator Fan Relay has to be an exact match for pin layout and part number. Once you slide it in firmly until it clicks, snap the cover back on. Once you reconnect the battery, start the engine, kick the AC on, and see the Ram fan spin. This happens because the Radiator Fan Relay has been changed.
