2000 Chrysler LHS Engine Mount Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair Engine Mounts on Both Sides on 2000 Chrysler LHS?
A: Raising the vehicle on a hoist should be done first for service and repair of the left and right engine mounts. Take away the isolator nuts that hold the top of the mounting bracket. Place a jack under the engine and put a block of wood stretchwide over the oil pan. After that, take off the nuts that hold the isolator to the bottom of the frame. Lift the engine using the jack until you can slide the isolator with the heat shield off its base. During installation, first attach the isolator mount with the heat shield to the frame and then, with help, lower the engine onto the insulator. After you've removed the jack, set the isolator to frame nuts to a torque of 61 Nm (45 ft. lbs.). Set the upper mounting nuts and apply 61 Nm of pressure before dropping the vehicle. Surface cracks on engine hydro-mount isolators should not worry you, as they do not reduce performance. The isolators should simply be changed if there is fluid leakage or if other problems, including structural damage, are found.
