2000 Chrysler LHS Power Steering Reservoir Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a Power Steering Reservoir on 2000 Chrysler LHS?
A: On the left front frame rail, the power steering pump fluid is remotely tucked away. After lifting the vehicle, pull the return hose off the side of the power steering reservoir and remove the supply hose from the bottom. Draining the fluid can be done because there will be no pressure to block it. After finishing the lowering process, tilt the reservoir about 180 degrees by rotating while facing the engine to remove it from the bracket. Gently insert the reservoir into the cleaning bracket, with the retaining tab fastened and tighten the screw at 12 Nm (105 inch lbs.). Bring the car up again and fix the power steering return hose to the side nipple and the supply hose to the bottom nipple, making sure the hose clamps are attached past the retention beads. Don't lower the car too much and only use Mopar Power Steering Fluid or another similar product, not automatic transmission fluid. Fill the reservoir as indicated, begin the engine and turn the steering from lock to lock a few times until all the air is released. When you have switched off the engine, first inspect for any fluid leaks and then look at the level of the fluid.
