2000 Chrysler LHS Throttle Position Sensor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service and Repair a Throttle Position Sensor on 2000 Chrysler LHS?
A: Serve or fix the Throttle Position Sensor by first detaching the negative battery wire and the air plenum. After that, unplug the TPS electrical connector, remove the screws holding it and take the TPS out. After placement, make certain the throttle shaft is supported by the tabs you see inside the throttle potentiometer. If indexed properly, the TPS can be rotated slightly clockwise to bring its mounting holes in line with the throttle body and feel a little stiff when in place. If turning is hard, set the sensor so that the throttle shaft rests on the other side of the socket's tabs. Use a torque wrench to turn the mounting screws to 3 Nm (25 in. lbs.). When you install the TPS, close the throttle plate; if it's open, set the sensor on the other side of the tabs. Fit the electrical connector into the TPS, restore the air plenum and tighten the clamp and join the negative battery cable back together.
