2000 Dodge Dakota Window Regulator Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain a Front Door Window Regulator on 2000 Dodge Dakota?
A: To start working on the front door window regulator, uncover it by removing the trim and the water dam, if that's needed. Then, pull out the glass from the door and, if it contains a power window motor, unplug the wire connector going to the motor from the door harness. Twist the screw out of each slotted hole that holds the regulator to the door's inner panel and then remove the bolts keeping the regulator fixed to the inner panel. Used the hole in the inner door panel to pull out the window regulator and then disconnect it from the panel. Before connecting the bolts, ensure the regulator is in place inside the door and that the bolts' holes are in the same place as the slotted holes in the inner door panel. Hook up the power window motor wire connector to the door harness where applicable; then slide the glass into the door. After that, set the outer and inner belt weather strips, the water dam and the door trim panel. After that, make sure the window regulator functions properly.
