2000 Dodge Dakota Wiper Motor Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Wiper Motor on 2000 Dodge Dakota?
A: Before servicing the wiper motor, first cut off power to the negative battery terminal. After removing the wiper arms from the pivots, eliminate the weather strip along the front edge of the cowl plenum cover/grille panel and the cowl plenum cover itself. Removing the car comes next, including the four plastic screws for the cowl plenum cover/grille panel on the cowl top studs near the windshield base, the one plastic rivet holding the front corners of the plenum cover/grille panel to the cowl plenum panel and the one push-in retainer at the back of the plenum cover/grille panel on each side to the windshield reveal moulding. Withdraw the slotted center hole of each side of the cowl grille panel from the snap fastener that is stuck to the cowl side panel. Pull the air intake cover back a little to reveal the windshield washer supply line at the right-hand end, then part it from the inline connector. Unplug the hose from the vacuum reservoir that is screwed in under the right side of the cowl plenum cover/grille panel, then remove the whole cowl plenum cover/grille panel from the vehicle. To reach the wiper module, take out the four screws holding it to the cowl plenum panel and move the wiper module until you can access and unplug the wire harness from the wiper motor. Once the wiper module is removed from the cowl plenum, apply the reverse removal process for installation, check that the washer nozzle hoses are in the correct place in the holders beneath the cowl plenum cover/grille panel and fasten all the mounting screws to 8 Nm (72 in. lbs.).
