- Q: How to Replace a Damaged or Leaking A/C Condenser on 2000 Dodge Neon?A: You can't service the condenser which is in front of the radiator; it must be replaced if damaged or missing fluids. You must use the R-134a refrigerant recovery machine to take out the refrigerant from the system before you can remove the condenser. First take out the battery support strut and after that remove the refrigerant lines connecting to the condenser. Following this, get rid of the upper radiator mounts and the screws holding the condenser to the radiator. Tilt the radiator behind you so you can remove the condenser. To install, unscrew the lines the same way you did during removal and secure all the lines to 5 Nm (45 in lbs).
