- Q: How is the A/C Accumulator Removed and Installed in the Engine Compartment on 2000 Dodge Neon?A: The A/C accumulator is fitted inside a rubber grommet on the right side of the engine compartment and all remaining refrigerant should be removed from the system before changing the A/C accumulator. The refrigeration system should be completely recovered before you start this operation. First, separate the liquid line from the A/C accumulator, then disconnect the one on the suction line assembly from the A/C accumulator and draw the A/C accumulator out of the grommet. When installing, remove the board the same way as above.
