2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Brake Master Cylinder Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Service a Brake Master Cylinder on 2000 Dodge Ram 1500?
A: Before servicing the brake master cylinder, pump the brake repeatedly until the vacuum reserve is used up. After that, remove the brake lines from the brake master cylinder, undo the mounting nuts and pull out the brake master cylinder. When you're replacing the brake master cylinder, you should bleed it prior to installation. Fasten the brake master cylinder over the booster mounting studs, secure it with its mounting nuts tightened to 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.) and reconnect the brake lines, tightening them by 19 - 23 Nm (170 - 200 inch lbs.). The last thing to do is bleed the base brake system which ends the process.
