How to Service and Repair the Control Arm in the Upper Suspension on 2000 Dodge Ram 1500?

Raise and secure the vehicle first and after that take off the tire assembly. Set up a wide, flat jack stand under the lower suspension arm at the outboard position to support it. Remove the ball joint cotter pin and nut next and release the ball joint from the knuckle with remover MB-990635. Remove both of the pivot bar bolts from the upper suspension arm bracket and then take the arm out. During installation, put the upper suspension arm on the strut and close the pivot bar bolts with a torque reading of 169 Nm (125 ft. lbs.). Put the ball joint into the knuckle, fit the ball joint nut and tighten it to 81 Nm (60 ft. lbs.) and add a replacement cotter pin. Take the jack out from the lower suspension arm, put on the tire and wheel, unsupport the vehicle and lower it all down. Finally, set the front suspension so it matches the instructions.

Q: How to Service and Repair the Control Arm in the Upper Suspension on 2000 Dodge Ram 1500?
