How to service the 9-1/4 HD axle shaft seal and bearing on 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 Van?

Before working on the 9-1/4 HD axle seal and bearing, first take out the axle shaft. After that, employ a small pry bar to remove the axle shaft seal from the ending of the axle tube. After that, insert Bearing Removal Tool C-4828 to separate the bearing from the axle tube. It's important to install a new seal for the axle shaft, instead of reusing the original one. Start by wiping clean the axle tube bore and removing any dust or sealer remains. Fit the axle shaft bearing with Installer C-4826-1 and Handle C-4171 and make sure the bearing is straight in the axle tube as the tool presses against the part. Next, apply a new axle seal with Installer C-4826-1, Adapter C-4826-2 and Handle C-4171 to make sure the seal's position is right for a good seal. Apply axle lubricant to the seal's lip before putting in the axle shaft.
