2000 Jeep Cherokee Washer Reservoir Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Maintain and Fix a Washer Reservoir on 2000 Jeep Cherokee?
A: Make sure to disconnect the negative battery cable before starting work on the windshield washer reservoir. The washer reservoir filler neck, fastened with an interference fit, can be taken out by pulling, rocking and twisting it from the reservoir. After that, take out the engine air filter housing. Remove the two securing screws from the washer reservoir and raise the car. Take out the inner wheel house splash shield from the left front and remove the washer supply hoses from the pump(s), putting the washer fluid into a clean container to reuse it. Remove the wires from the washer pump(s) and the washer fluid level sensor. Nudge the reservoir towards the rear to break loose the two hooks from the fender ledge slots. Then, lower the reservoir at the front and move it forward to remove it. Turn everything back around, making sure the tank is in the right place, then tighten the two reservoir mounting screws to 3 Nm (26 in. lbs.).
