First, disconnect and insulate the battery negative cable before servicing the windshield washer reservoir. To get the washer reservoir filler neck out, pull it gently, rock it back and forth and turn it a bit. After that, remove the engine air filter housing from beneath the engine hood. Undo the two screws that attach the washer reservoir to the left front inner fender shield and lift and support the vehicle. Take away the splash shield on the left front wheel house and unhook the washer supply hoses from the pump or motor barbed outlets, letting the washer fluid flow into a cleaned container for use again. Remove the headlamp and dash wire harness connectors from the front
Washer Pump/motor, rear washer pump motor and washer fluid level switch. Push the washer reservoir slightly toward the back of the car to break the reservoir hooks free from the fender ledge holes, then lower the front of the reservoir and move it forward to uninstall it from the left front fenders. The reservoir is installed by inserting its rear into the top of the left front fender wheel house to fit between the inner and outer fender panels. Hold the reservoir up and pull it just ahead of the body, placing the two reservoir hooks into each inner fender ledge. Match the headlamp and dash wiring harness connectors with their corresponding receptacles: for the front washer pump/motor, rear pump motor and washer fluid level switch. Also, reattach the washer supply hoses to the barbs on the front and rear pump motors, with the hose on the lower pump on the sump connected to the front washer system. Fit the splash shield into the left front inner wheel house, raise and lower the vehicle as needed and attach the washer reservoir to the left front inner fender shield by installing and tightening the two screws to 3 Nm (26 in.lbs.). First, insert the engine air filter housing into place and then put the washer reservoir filler neck back in by pushing, rocking and twisting it into place. After that, put in fresh clean washer fluid and attach the negative cable of the battery.
