2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Canister Purge Valve Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a Canister Purge Valve on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: This duty cycle evaporative (EVAP) canister purge valve is installed in the engine compartment just in front of the EVAP canister. To access the valve, first break the link between the electrical connector and the vacuum. After that, remove both bracket mounting nuts and take out the valve together with the valve bracket. Set the valve and valve bracket back onto the vehicle and attach the bracket nuts, using torque of 9 Nm (80 in. lbs.). Connect the vacuum lines to the valve correctly so that there are no leaks or damage, since leaks are sometimes detected by Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) when using some emission packages. Next, join the electrical connector with the valve once again.
