2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Canister Purge Valve Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Remove and Install a Canister Purge Valve on 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: The duty cycle evaporative (EVAP) canister purge valve is found in front of the EVAP canister inside the engine compartment. Prior to removing the valve, take out the electrical connector and vacuum lines first. After that, unscrew the two mounting nuts and remove the valve with the bracket. Place the valve and its bracket at their required places on the car and install and tighten the two mounting nuts to 9 Nm or 80 in. Lbs. torque. Link the vacuum lines up to the valve and make sure they are securely fastened and not damaged, to avoid any DTCs if you have certain emission packages. Link the wires from the valve back to their electrical connector.
