How to Service and Repair a Lower Control Arm on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee?

Raise the vehicle, then prop up the front axle for lower control arm service. Unbolt the nut and bolt from the axle bracket, then move on to the frame rail bracket nut and bolt to take the lower suspension arm off. Installation begins with fitting the lower suspension arm into the axle bracket, frame rail bracket and attaching the oval bushing side to the axle bracket. Secure the axle bracket bolt and nut with your fingers for now and do the same for the frame rail bracket bolt and nut. Lift the vehicle from the ground after removing the support, then tighten both bracket bolts while it is resting on the ground: The frame bracket to 156 Nm (115 ft. lbs.) and the axle bracket to 163 Nm (120 ft. lbs.). When you are done, check the alignment after applying any new parts.
