2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Fuel Pressure Regulator Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Remove and Install a Fuel Pressure Regulator Mounted Above the Rear Axle on 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee?
A: This combination fits above the rear axle and at the front of the fuel tank onto the vehicle body. Before you remove the fuel pump, disconnect the negative battery cable at the battery and perform the Fuel System Pressure Release Procedure. Raise the vehicle and clean the space around the three filter/regulator fittings. Remove the fuel supply, fuel return and fuel pressure lines from the filter/regulator next step. Take out the two bolts and get the filter/regulator off the mount. Before installing, wipe and clean the fittings to remove any dirt and place the O-ring onto the fuel return fitting of the filter/regulator unit. Place just a small amount of engine oil on the O-rings, line up the filter/regulator with the body and screw in the bolts till they reach 3 Nm (30 in. lbs.) of torque. Attach all three fittings and once more connect the black battery cable to the battery. Start the lawn mower up and watch for leakage.
