2001 Chrysler LHS A/C Hose Parts and Q&A
Q: How to Replace an A/C Hose on 2001 Chrysler LHS?
A: Before changing the A/C discharge hose/line, pop the hood and disconnect the negative cable on the battery from the battery remote post. Get the refrigerant out of the air conditioning system. Unplug the harness to the A/C pressure transducer and take out the transducer component as well. Release the discharge line at the compressor using a 6 mm allen wrench, then close off any line that is not being changed, even the ones linked to the expansion valve tubes. After that, disconnect the drain tube from the A/C condenser using an M13 Hex wrench. During installation, avoid sharp bends or kinks in the metal tubing and make the bends at least 10 times the diameter of the hoses. The flexible lines should be routed at least 80 millimeters (3 inches) from the exhaust manifold. Secure the discharge line to the A/C condenser with a bolt at 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.) next and lock in the discharge line to the compressor using another bolt at 23 Nm (17 ft. lbs.). Screw the A/C pressure transducer in place and insert the harness connector into it. Replace the negative battery cable remote terminal on the remote battery post. Empty the refrigerant out and then replace it as the rules require.
