  A: Before servicing the starter motor, open the hood and remove the air cleaner box cover. Unplug the negative battery cable and drive the car up on a hoist. Remove the Engine Structural Collar and remove the wiring from the starter motor. After that, take the starter motor mounting bolts out and remove the starter motor from the vehicle. For installation, put the starter motor underneath in the lower engine area, tighten the mounting bolts and set the torque to 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.). Join the starter motor cables, applying 10 Nm (90 in. lbs.) of torque to the solenoid battery cable's nut. Replace the Engine Structural Collar, tightening it according to the correct torque method to not injure either the oil pan or collar. Place the car onto the ground, reattach the battery onto the negative post and put the cover on the air cleaner box. After that, check that the vehicle and all its parts work properly, close the hood and take the vehicle down from the hoist.
