2001 Chrysler Sebring Fuse Box Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to Safely Service a Fuse Box with Airbags on 2001 Chrysler Sebring?
A: Before accessing the Fuse Box on cars with air bags, take safety precautions because mishandling the system can cause the air bag to come on. The Junction Block (JB) and the Body Control Module (BCM) are both found on the driver's side of your vehicle. Open the hood and loosen the negative remote cable from the left shock tower's remote terminal. Then, pull out the front driver's door, take off the end cap, the center bezel, the instrument cluster hood and the silencer. Take the wire harness connectors out of the Junction Block and unscrew the three mounting screws. Take the Junction Block/BCM out of the mounting bayonet, unplug the BCM connectors and set the assembly free from the vehicle. After you have removed the Junction Block, clear it by removing the screws and unlatching the catch from both BCMs. First, connect the BCM to the Junction Block, attach the assembly with screws and then position the whole assembly to where it was before. Replace the covers of the sliders and mount the Junction Block assembly screws to reinstall the BCM wire connectors. Then, place the silencer, instrument cluster hood, center bezel and end cap back on and join the battery's negative cable to finish the job.
